fervently and in between sweet sweet art.

Life is good, am I right? We're in tune with the artistic collective that is this world, we can taste it, it's all over our faces. Look at you. You're a mess.

Indulgence, that's what it is. I mused over this before bed: the fragrant garden of art is so riddled, so infested with weeds. People who insist on art being kept in a box and tied up with rules and standards - thorn covered twine.

You've got your headphones on, your sketchbook askew on your bare legs - basking in the sun. You're not making art for any great purpose. There's no aftertaste of controversy amongst your lines. You're fucking happy. You draw because it's running ramped in your veins, because you've been suckling on the Internets teat all morning and you now feel connected to something greater. Something free and with a spirit that encompasses everything. Let's liken it to the sky. Does that make you feel good? Great.

There's been a lot going on.
I have a spot in an exhibition for arty folk who are new on the scene; the scene being the world of commercial art. It's really exciting ->
:icone-s-h-e-r: did you jump for that exhibition at all?

I've successfully incorporated a colour harmonizing technique that is blowing my mind each time i approach the canvas. It feels great be so confident with each brushstroke.
Seriously, go out there and oggle everything with artistic merit, anything with an aesthetic quality that makes your bits go tingly. Promise me this.

Hubbawha? you ask? well, trades are something i like to do every once an a while with people who really have a spark to their name; a creative flair which attracts me like a moth to a flame.
This doesn't mean i only trade with superior artists, all it means is that you have to be an active artist; someone who is developing, changing, breaking over the norm, secure in their artistic skin nomatter how it stretches, willing to push themselves; to get my attention.

Wow, fussy huh. No, just challenging.

Anyway, i promised monkeys, and monkeys you have recieved, and whilst speaking of my trade piece, go and support the other participant [who outshowed me by handing in his half within the week]

Think Dragon-ball-Z and then picture something more refined and solid, then sit back and be enveloped by his array of very badass drawings.
Someone give that boi a Wacom!

Tantelising tidbits

Everyone think monkeys, then keep an eye on this space.

How are our art mojo's coping, are we on any kind of high?
Personally, i'm lacking any type of mojo due to the weather. I do not cope well with a monotonously morbid pastel-grey skyscape, oh-ho-no.
I keep telling myself i have to overcome silly things like no sun or grey skies or aging routine or not having a studio or becoming musically uninspired,
but i am simply too influenced by things.

On that note, a prayer:

Lord, honestly...africa needs these clouds and i am as pale as they come.
Screw everything i could possibly desire, except the company of my badass summer sun.
Amen.
